When Barry and Mark first met, they were set up by friends and were a little skeptical of the whole process. However they clicked and here we are a few years later. Barry’s family is from the US and he decided to propose to Mark while in Chigaco. They initially wanted a big wedding with all their friends, but then decided to elope and have just their immediate family at an intimate ceremony in Perth.
This wedding was significant – not only to me – but for all same-sex couples. During the ceremony, Mark and Barry shared heartfelt vows and everyone (including me) was crying. We all knew what it meant. How important it was, that these two people that love each other were now able to get married and have the same rights as other couples.
It was truly something special to be a part of. Thank you Mark and Barry for allowing me to be a part of your day.
