Yellagonga Regional Park – Ocean Reef

Yellagonga Park is situated along Ocean Reef Road, with gorgeous open fields, large trees and winding paths, it’s a popular spot for many families, pets and photographers alike. It has easy access, a large dirt car park, and it’s only a short walk to the best spots for photography. Perfect for families with little children, dogs, prams and older family members that may have mobility issues.

Challenger Parade – City Beach

Fancy a beach session? I actually love these in the winter months! The best months are between April to September. The sun sets earlier, it’s often overcast (which gives those soft tones), and it’s not blisteringly hot. It’s a dog friendly beach too! I don’t usually recommend summer beach sessions as it can be very hot, windy and the glare from the sun on the water can be extreme.

Herdsman Lake – Wembley

This stunning lakeside trail is one of Perth’s best kept secrets! Located within minutes of Perth CBD, Herdsman Lake in Wembley is a wonderful secluded spot for family photos. With lakeside views, soft dirt trails lined with paperbark trees, it’s the perfect area for families with kids of all ages. It’s dog friendly too!

Swan River – Salter Point

Another spot very close to Perth city is Salter Point Reserve. It has stunning river-side views, gentle water shores, a cute wooden walkway and pleasant dirt pathways. Suitable for most families with young kids and dogs (elderly with limited walking abilities may be better with a different location). Pine Forest – Gnangara

The pine forest in Gnangara allows easy access to a natural setting for your portrait session. Situated only 30mins north of Perth city, it’s a fantastic location for small families or larger groups. Great all year round for photos and it’s also dog friendly!

Bells Rapids / Lookout – Brigadoon

You may already be familiar with the park at Bells Rapids. It’s a popular spot for picnics, photos, bush walking, kayaking and more! This serene park is in the Swan Valley, around 45mins from Perth city. It is dog-friendly, and has a great mix of bush, river and a cute wooden bridge. Some areas require a bit of walking over uneven ground, so would be best suited for babies (no prams), kids and able adults (elderly members with mobility issues may find it difficult to traverse).

Point Walter / Blackwall Reach – Bicton

Just a short trip from Perth city, Point Walter Reserve and Blackwall Reach Reserve are beautiful river-side locations that make the perfect backdrop for your family photos. Get sand in your toes and – if you’re feeling especially brave – jump in the water for some unforgettable images! It’s dog friendly and easily accessible for most family members.

Studio – Hillarys

My studio in Hillarys is always available for individuals and families. It has inviting natural light, neutral white decor and perfectly temperature controlled, so it’s perfect all year round. It’s most popular for newborn sessions, so your little one is protected from the elements, plus any older children can’t run off anywhere. Sessions are booked in the morning for the best light and can be timed around older baby or toddler naps.
